Safety & Security Campaign

We send our kids to school to learn. We want our schools to be a safe and secure environment where they can thrive. According to survey results during APS’ search for the Superintendent, safety and security are top priorities for familes across the district. We want to address it by hearing from you. Share your feedback.

DISRUPT THE SCHOOL TO PRISON PIPELINE

APS created its own police department in 2016. While the district says this supports at-risk students, the student handbook does not explain when school-based incidents trigger police involvement. With over 100 officers, the largest school police force in Georgia, we need transparency to keep students out of the school-to-prison pipeline.

We are calling for the APS Student Handbook to include clear guidelines by May 2026.
